Laurie Bakes by Laurie Valenzuela
I am Laurie Valenzuela (pronounced "Val-en-zoo-ay-lah") and I have been baking cakes for over thirty years.
My first cake attempt was for my eldest child Malory's first birthday.
It was quite unremarkable, canned frosting and a plastic Big Bird on top but I really loved making it
and here I am thirty years later still baking cakes and loving it.
Of course, over time, I've honed my skills. I searched for my favorite from-scratch recipes,
allowing me to graduate from premade mixes to homemade deliciousness.
Then, I added decorated shortbread cookies about ten years ago when people started asking for them to go with their cake and/or party theme.
It is exciting to create beautiful, delicious cakes and cookies that will be part of someone's celebration.
It makes me feel like I'm personally part of something very special.
That is an amazing reward for doing something I love!
I began this website to give my customers a way to view my work online and to do even more of what I love.
